This is one of the questions I asked in my most recent YouTube video on HOW TO KNOW HOW FIT YOU ARE FOR BUSINESS. This is the same question I will ask you in relation to your career, family, marriage, relationships, and life in general.
How stable we are dictates how strong we will stand against whatever challenges we are facing. It will determine how far we can go and how solid we will remain. Stability comes from the inside -- from having a made up heart and mind. It resides in a place of peace no matter how chaotic the surroundings may be.
Incidentally, I saw a painting years ago that depicted the peace that comes from God. It was a painting of a bird on a nest, and the nest was sitting on a branch that's barely hanging in there, at the edge of a cliff. The bird was comfortably sitting on its nest, unfazed, because it knows it can fly. This is the kind of peace I'm talking about that creates the stability we need.
An unstable father or mother will not be able to succeed in raising children. I have my own share of instability as a young mother back then, and it surely affected my children. However, when I started healing from my emotional wounds, I became more stable, and my children began to heal as well.
The stability of our surroundings then begins with us personally. It starts with what we can control. The more stable we get, the clearer our minds become, and the wiser decisions we will make. This affects all areas of our lives.
When I do my extensive Business Coaching or Career Coaching, Imake it a point to see where my clients are, not only in business or career but in their personal lives. In my years of practice, I've noticed that clients going through unstable times project that same instability in their job interviews, loan application, starting a business, or interpersonal relationships. Any success on the outside starts from the inside. And the inside begins from an acknowledgement that something needs to change -- whether it is healing from unresolved issues, breaking free from bad habits and behaviors, or a mind shifting.
In the same YouTube video, I asked more questions and gave more explanations on how you can assess yourself in relation to "how fit you are for business". You can use these same questions and guidelines to assess yourself in relation to any area of your life.
We do need more stable people at such a time as this. This is one of the best things we can do for ourselves, family, community, and our country.
